I have always loved modern dance. It gave me a sense of rebellious freedom that, at that time, I wasn't getting in my other dance classes. And lets be honest, I've always been a bit of a rebel. In August we are going back to my dance roots and exploring some Modern & Contemporary dance basics. We are pulling from Horton, Lewitsky, Grahm, and Dunham technique.
Modern dance is recognized for its strong expressiveness, in contrast to the structured technique of classical ballet. Unlike ballet, modern dance focuses more on expression rather than following a rigid set of postures or technical positions. It highlights individual expression, creativity, and innovation in movement.
